When you join us as an RGM or senior leader, your journey starts with our Heartstyles programme. 

It’s not just training. It's character development. It changes how you respond to challenges, how you make decisions, and how you lead others. And it can give you real insights into your current behaviors, and help you understand why you do what you do. 

The result? Relationships that really click, authentic leadership that actually sticks, and the mindset to help you bring your best self to work.

And it’s not a one-off workshop either. It's ongoing development that grows with you throughout your KFC career.

Individual Development Plans

Moving up at KFC is not about being perfect. It’s about showing up. Being willing to learn. Understanding that making sideways moves can sometimes get you there quicker. 

If you have the potential, we’ll invest in you. You’ll have your own Individual Development Plan that we’ll check in on twice a year. We’ll use it to spot skills gaps and development opportunities, and to map out your future at KFC.

Apprenticeships with bite

We’ve been serving up Apprenticeships in hospitality since 2012, backed by our own world-class internal training created for real ones like you. We'll never stop being proud of how far our apprentices go - or the real impact they make.

Our Apprenticeship programmes include:

Level 2 (Intermediate)

Equivalent to GCSE level, and teaches food safety, customer interaction, basic equipment operation, and hygiene standards. It’s for Team Members, Kitchen Staff, and Customer Service Assistants who want to nail the basics in entry-level roles.

Level 3 (Advanced)

Equivalent to A-levels or Level 3 NVQ (National Vocational Qualification), and teaches team management, stock control, conflict resolution, and advanced customer service. It’s for Shift Supervisors and Team Leaders who want to ramp up their supervisory and technical skills.

Level 4&5 (Higher)

Equivalent to Foundation degree or HND (Higher National Diploma), and teaches financial management, business strategy, leadership development, and advanced operations. It’s for Restaurant Managers and Area Coaches who want to build higher-level knowledge and management skills, and help colleagues prepare for leadership roles.

Level 6&7 (Degree)

Equivalent to Bachelor's degree (Level 6) or Master's degree (Level 7), and teaches strategic planning, multi-unit management, advanced business analytics, and innovation. It’s for Senior Operations Managers, Area Leaders, and people in RSC Roles who want to expand their strategic and specialised skills.

LEAD

LEAD is our Inclusive Leadership programme that helps leaders tackle bias and build genuine equity, inclusion, and belonging. Open to all colleagues within the restaurant support centre, it offers virtual and in-person sessions to develop the mindset and skills that create real togetherness. The result? Everyone’s empowered to lead inclusively and inspire others to follow.

The Female Advantage

The Female Advantage programme, created with our Wolfpack community, gives high-potential female talent the leadership skills and confidence to go further. It’s a real opportunity for female store leaders to explore leadership impact and be a visible role model. And it’s a bold step in turning awareness into meaningful action when it comes to gender equity.

How we Lead

How We Lead is a transformational four-and-a-half-day workshop where leadership begins from within. Using the Me, We, Business model, participants explore their personal values, leadership priorities, and the impact they have on others. Through powerful conversations, deep self-reflection, and meaningful peer connections, leaders gain clarity on what great leadership looks like here at KFC. By the end of the experience, they’re equipped to lead with authenticity and build stronger relationships.

And they understand show up in a way that truly reflects KFC’s vision and values.

Global programmes

We offer a mix of leadership programmes like Leaders Advance and Peaks, to help high potential talent discover what they’re capable of. This is where our future leaders develop real skills in self-awareness, teamwork, and strategic thinking. And it’s an opportunity to show up, step up, and grow way beyond their comfort zone.
